In the late 1800s, the Hudson family settled in what would become Roff, Oklahoma. Great-Granny Pearl Hudson operated a dry goods store and became locally famous for the peanut brittle she sold to customers throughout the area.

The next generation transformed the family store into The Roff Cafe, but Pearl's brittle remained the town favorite. Over the years, the family continued making brittle for holidays, church gatherings, and special occasions—earning it the nickname "Pentecostal Brittle."

Over the decades, the Hudsons earned a reputation as beloved restaurateurs and talented candy makers. The family continued crafting their famous brittle, eventually reserving it for holidays, church gatherings, and special community events. Its popularity only grew, and before long, locals affectionately began referring to it as "Pentecostal Brittle"—a sweet tradition that became woven into the fabric of family celebrations and church fellowship throughout the region.
Then, in 2021, a new generation of Hudsons revived the family tradition, transforming a cherished heritage recipe into a year-round candy company. What began as Hudson's Kitchen quickly grew beyond anything the family imagined, and in 2023, the company officially became Okie Brittle.
Today, Okie Brittle remains one of the most sought-after peanut brittles in the country, still handcrafted using the very same recipe Great-Granny Pearl Hudson created more than a century ago. From holiday gatherings and church socials to customers across all 50 states, her legacy continues to bring people together one piece of brittle at a time.
